I am trying to research my family that lived and worked in Gaerwen and Llanddaniel.
My father was Thomas Parry Roberts, born 9 July 1917, married Mabel Robberts in 1945 and lived in Tan y Ffordd Gaerwen immediately after.
Names I remember in Gaerwen as a child were Kate Roberts & daughter Jane, Ronnie & Anne Hughes, Richard & Nannie Owen. If you recognise any of these names please get in touch.

I lived on Tyddyn Eurach farm in Llanddaniel from 1941 to 1948. My parents were Gwilym Owen Thomas and Hannah Mary Hughes. My grandparents were Mary and Hugh Hughes.
I am currently writing a book about our family/history.
If anyone has any information or photos of our family etc, I would appreciate hearing from you.
We are living in New Zealand - have been here since 1967.

Richard Jones

My grandfather was David Jones of Siop Newydd, he died in 1979 in London but the family had moved away from Llanddaniel in the 1960's.
We did visit in the 1970's for funerals - his brother Uncle Jack (John) Jones and to see his cousins in Menai Bridge - Olwen Lewis (wife of a cousin) - and in Penygroes, Thomas Elwyn (I think), who lived in a hardware store but also organised trips to the Welsh community in Patagonia.
My grandfather appears on the census a few times.
We also visited the wife of a cousin we knew as Lilly Ty Newydd who lived in the house of that name but was Ellen Jones-Williams.
Memories from childhood of Anglesey, mainly the wind whistling through the telephone wires.......
